On Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 restaurants, chefs and businesses located north of Boston will join together to support the fight to end human trafficking. The event is inspired by Anuradha Koirala who is the founder of Maiti Nepal, an organization combatting this heinous crime. "Maiti" loosely translated means "mother's home" in Nepali and that is what her shelter is for those women and children who have been rescued and those considered at risk.
The November 15th “Take a Bite Out of Trafficking” fundraiser will be an evening filled with special events including culinary samplings from some of the area’s most recognized chefs; an exclusive movie screening of "Tin Girls"; a Nepali Dance Performance; Photography from TABOOT's founder's collection "Bought & Sold"; and extensive and exciting live and silent auctions as well as raffle.
